Queen Village Neighborhood Association contacted us last year to see if we had any ideas on how they could beautify the unattractive junction box eyesores on Bainbridge.
Painting junction boxes isn't a new concept, but we hadn't seen it done in Philly before. So we suggested inviting artists to come and paint murals on the boxes.
Once we were given the go ahead, it was time to select the artists. HAHAxParadigm not only works with artists from outside of Philadelphia, we support our local artists as well. The 3 artists chosen for this project represent a local favorite, a Philly transport and a visiting artist.
My Dog Sighs, Calo Buscanigua and Kelly Kozma dropped some amazing work between 3rd and 5th on Bainbridge Street in the Queen Village section of Philadelphia over the 2014 Labor Day weekend.
The artists beautifully rehabbed these neglected junction boxes as part of our community beautification collaboration with the Queen Village Neighborhood Association.
You can view some great local interaction with the new boxes by using the social media hashtags #hahaxpara & #bainbridgegreen.
